The Importance of E-Liquid for Vapers

E-cigarette Vaping

We’re all fully aware of how much of an arduous task quitting cigarettes can be for many people. There are help centres, courses and all kinds of methods to help people quit smoking.

Nicotine, the highly addictive substance in cigarettes, is not an addiction that easily passes and there are several devices and methods to ensure that a smokers nicotine intake is retained.

Vaping is by far the most popular method of quitting smoking today, and also is considered the most effective. Deemed 95% safer than regular cigarettes, is it vaping’s versatility that gives it the edge over old nicotine patches and chewing gum?

E-liquid is the variable and versatile element that delivers flavour, nicotine and vapour to the vaping process. It is usually a mix of vegetable glycerine, propylene glycol, nicotine and flavouring.

This liquid is vapourised by the e-cig’s heating element and is then inhaled by the user, replicating the sensation of smoking.

Today, there is an incredible range of e-liquid flavours available from numerous brands. Whether a vaper wants dessert, fruit or cereal flavour, the e-liquid is available from a wide range of outlets.

With a multitude of e-juice nicotine strengths available, a vaper can control their nicotine intake. A smoker who just has a few cigarettes a day should not be bombarded with 20mg of nicotine in a vape juice, and similarly, someone smoking 20-per-day shouldn’t have minimal e-liquid.

Once the vaper has identified their desired e-liquid nicotine content, they can gradually reduce their intake to kick nicotine completely.

A study by Dr. Konstantinos Farsalinos found that e-liquid flavours are very important to vapers that are aiming to quit smoking.

The study, encompassing 4,618 vapers, found that the vast majority of vapers preferred sweet or fruit flavoured vape juice over traditional tobacco-flavoured e-liquid.

70% of the participants say they use multiple vape juices, and 44% said that if flavours were prohibited, they would be less likely to quit smoking.

This indicates the importance of flavours in helping smokers quit, and if that they were taking away, vaping would be less effective.

There have even been reports that vaping helps smokers keep the weight off. It is well known that nicotine is an appetite suppressant and those who quit smoking often find them snacking more.

Vaping is the best method of smoking, and a healthy, experimental and wide-ranging of e-liquid can be intrinsic to that. It’s important that regulators are properly aware of the importance of e-liquid flavours.
